Located at 5701 Geary Blvd, San Francisco, CA 94121, Taj Indian Cuisine operates as an indian restaurant serving San Francisco in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In San Francisco, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across California run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 11 am–10 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (415) 702-6381. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is tajindiancuisinesf.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.7 out of 5 from 263 reviews, which is a strong result for an indian restaurant in San Francisco and suggests consistent service.

San Francisco is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Traffic in San Francisco peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The best Indian food I have had in a long time! Super safe for allergies, with all major allergens marked on the menu + delicious gluten free naan! Server was extremely attentive and gave us some complimentary rice and papadom! Making this a must have for our next trip to SF!

I recently visited Taj Indian Cuisine with some friends, and it was an absolutely incredible dining experience. Hands down, the food here is the best among all the places I usually visit! We ordered a variety of dishes to share: Paneer Pakoda: Crispy, perfectly seasoned, and a great way to start the meal. Mix Grill: Packed with flavor, perfectly charred, and incredibly juicy. Dal Makhani: Rich, creamy, and slow-cooked to absolute perfection. Mint Lachha Paratha & Garlic Naan: Both breads were fresh, warm, and the perfect complement to the rich curries. The mint flavor on the paratha was a stando! If you are looking for authentic, high-quality flavors, this is easily one of the best places in California for Indian and Nepali cuisine. I will definitely be coming back for more. Highly recommended!

We ordered the okra and chicken sag with garlic naan. The naan has a buttery nutty delicious flavor. The vegetable samosas were mostly only potatoes but were surprisingly good.

Finally giving this new(ish) spot in the neighborhood now that they have some time to settle in. Went with a Chicken Tikka Masala, Rice and some Garlic Naan. Instead of my usual go to Mango Lassi I went with a Salted Lassi. The Salted Lassi was nice and a good balance to the Masala (just know it’s a salted plain yogurt drink and not sweet like a Mango Lassi is). Overall impressions of the food and experience is decent. Great Masala Sauce, but unfortunately the chicken was a bit dry and chewy on the day I had it. The Garlic Naan was great and very tasty with the sauce. Value was ok, but note you have to pay $4 for rice to go with a $16 entree as rice is not included with the entree.. All in all it was a bit of a pricy lunch for one at $32 before tip. My suggestion is to go with a group to share different dishes family style. Decor is pretty basic, but very clean and nice service by staff.

8/20/2025- update: Still as good as the first time! The chick pea veggie fritters were amazing! So is the curry! Super yummy! First time here and I was pleasantly surprised! Food is very good! I was wondering why my tea took a bit to get, they brew it and it’s milk chai. We had the tandoori salmon and the veggie basmati rice and it was amazing! Service is good, they are very nice and the prices are good! Will definitely be coming back!
